The Ministry of Commerce reported that Thai exports fall 11.3% YoY in February to USD11,736 million, while imports plunged 40.3% to USD8,159 million, a trade surplus of USD3,577 million. February exports was improved from a 26.5% fall in January or USD10,496 million, helped by re-exports of gold which surged 1100% YoY to USD1,864 million. Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said that tourist arrivals in Thailand might fall 11%, less than earlier forecasted of 18 – 20% fall.
